Day 1 - Maun to Moremi Game Reserve (Camping in Moremi Reserve)
The safari departs from Maun at 0730, passing
through the village of Shorobe en route, heading for South Gate where we enter the
Moremi Game Reserve.
The drive to South Gate normally takes just under two hours provided the drive has not
been delayed by game spotting on the way.
On arrival at South Gate, whilst the Professional Guide attends to the necessary paperwork
required for entry into the reserve, refreshments will be provided during this short break.
The journey continues through the Moremi Game Reserve, game spotting on the way,
until the designated camping ground is reached, about a two hour drive from South Gate.
Time to relax and stretch the legs, enjoy a leisurely lunch followed by a relaxation period
during which the professional guide will deliver a short briefing about the reserve and other
information regarding the safari , before commencing at around 1530 hrs an afternoon game
drive through Maya Pans, the Little Baobab area and arriving at Jessie's Pools for sunset.
Return to camp for pre-dinner refreshments, take dinner under the stars and later relax
for a while around a blazing campfire listening to the calls of the hyenas and lions before
retiring for the night.
Day 2 & 3 - Moremi Game Reserve (Camping in Moremi Reserve)
Early morning wake up calls for tea or coffee with breakfast cereals and nibbles prepares
one for the early morning game drive, leaving camp just after sunrise.The morning drive
heads for the Fourth Bridge area which offers excellent game viewing and beautiful scenery
with a very good chance of viewing buffalo and hippo especially around Fourth Bridge Bodumatau area may also be visited which again offers excellent game viewing.
Arrive back at the camp late morning where brunch will be ready, to be followed by a
siesta period.
At 1530 hrs, light refreshments are presented prior to departing on the afternoon game
drive which will proceed to Paradise Pools.
Arrive back at the camp before dark to a roaring campfire and late sundowner refreshments
followed by dinner and relaxing, maybe reflecting on the day, before retiring.
Day 4 - Moremi Game Reserve to Savute (Camping in Savuti)
We leave Moremi Game Reserve after breakfast and head off north to Savute. The road is
heavy sand winding through mopane forest but the destination is well worth the drive.
Savuti is home to many prides of lion and other predators such as wild dogs and leopard.
On arrival, camp is erected and lunch prepared by the camp staff whilst we set off to briefly
explore new surroundings prior to lunch.
Savuti lies in the south western area of Chobe National Park about 50km north of the
Mababe Gate.
The shallow Savuti channel connects the river to the north with the Mababe Depression,
which was once a great lake.
The Savuti channel is now flowing after many, many years of remaining dry.
Overnight camping in Savute which is true wilderness without fences and spend
an exhilarating night after dinner listening to the night sounds of the wildlife and maybe
get the chance to enjoy close up encounters in the camp.
Day 5 - Savute Marsh (Camping in Savuti)
The full day to be spent exploring this unique environment and magnificent Savuti Marsh area
renowned for the lion prides which live in this region along with other predators such as
wild dogs and leopard.
Guests interested in astronomy will be treated to one of the most expansive displays
of stars on earth,before retiring in cozy tents for the night and drifting off to the sounds
of the wild.
Day 6 Savuti through to Chobe (Camping in Ihaha)
This morning we leave Savute and drive to Chobe, where we will camp at Ihaha which
is situated in the northern area of Chobe National Park, close to the Cobe River.
On the drive from Savuti we pass through Kachikau, Kavimba and Mabele before arriving at
Ngoma where we will pass through the gate into Chobe National Park.
At Ngoma, we can view the bridge leading into the famous Caprivi Strip part of Namibia,
an unusual geographic phenomenan.
The Caprivi Strip was created in one of the most notorious colonial deals of the 19th century,
In1890, the Germans persuaded the British to swap this strip of land for Heligoland, an
island in the North Sea.
On arrival at Ihaha, the remaining part of the afternoon is for relaxation after the drive
and enjoy the sunset over the Chobe River followed by dinner before retiring for the night.
Day 7 - Chobe National Park Ihaha (Camping in Ihaha)
After an early morning game drive spent exploring this unique environment and magnificent riverine area which is home to the largest elephant concentration in the world, we return to camp for lunch.
Mid - afternoon, after refreshments, we head off game viewing along the Chobe River, Serondella area and floodplains.
The Chobe National Park is one of the few places where great herds of animals can roam, knowing there is always a source of water in the Chobe River which presents a vista of a wildly beautiful river, where many herds of elephant meander down onto the floodplains, walking past hippo's and herds of sable antelope, scattering the puku and disturbing the water birds whilst rumbling on gently to their favourite drinking spot.
Day 8 - Chobe National Park through to Kasane
The morning to be spent exploring this area of Chobe National Park which must be one of the most productive wildlife systems in the world with its many thousands of elephants and buffalo, associated lion, hyena, leopard and other predators.
After brunch, we drive through to Kasane where we camp at Toro Lodge, or similar depending on availability, located on the banks of the Chobe River and take the afternoon boat cruise along the Chobe River which should not be missed as the game viewing on this boat cruise is spectacular. (Boat Cruise not included in quoted rates)

The game viewing routes chosen on the day by the Professional Guide may differ from the above.
When a high flood is experienced, as is expected this year, certain roads may be closed or
impassable, but our guides will endeavour to pass through the most interesting areas offering
the best game viewing and scenic views available on the day.
