Afro Trek Safaris do offer private secluded accommodation at Riverside Splash, which is set on the banks of the Thamalakane River.

With only three fully air-conditioned cottages, accommodating a total of ten guests, Riverside Splash provides seclusion in a sanctuary of relaxation, just 4km from the center of Maun. The cottages are all en-suite, with well-appointed furnishings, super king sized beds and all are self-catering, though a private chef can be arranged on request at an agreed rate. An infinity edge heated swimming pool with relaxation areas, to which the mature trees offer additional, dappled shade to pool furniture.

The decked veranda of one of the cottages has been likened to a bird watchers hide, with many guests choosing to relax for most of the day enjoying this riverine environment. Given the close proximity of the deck to the Thamalakane river, unparalleled bird spotting and great views of hippos can be experienced. This abundant bird life, along with regular hippo and crocodile sightings, and being adjacent to the Maun Wildlife Reserve, which is home to zebras, giraffes, impala’s, make for a truly enjoyable stop over.
